Sticky Buns

Ingredients

Dough

  • 1/2 c brown sugar
  • 1 T salt
  • 1 1/2 T yeast
  • 1 1/2 c warm water (microwave ~35 seconds)
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 c olive oil
  • 7 c flour

The Good Stuff

  • 1 stick butter, softened
  • Corn syrup
  • Cinnamon-sugar

Directions

  1. Stir together brown sugar, salt, yeast, and water. Let sit a few minutes till foamy.
  2. Add eggs, olive oil, and flour.
  3. Knead several minutes till smooth and soft. Electric mixer works best.
  4. Let rise till doubled (about 1 hour).
  5. Put on floured surface and roll into a large rectangle about a half-inch thick.
  6. Spread 2 T of butter over the dough.
  7. Sprinkle dough with cinnamon-sugar.
  8. Starting on the long edge, roll up the dough. Cut into one-inch thick slices.
  9. Spread the rest of the butter on a half-sheet pan. Sprinkle with brown sugar and drizzle with corn syrup.
  10. Place the rolls in the pan, cut side down.
  11. Let rise till doubled.
  12. Bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes till nicely browned.
